Salvador Dali-inspired collages were very fun as well.
Maple Sugaring
We checked out Irvine Nature Center today, and took a nice tour of the grounds.
We learned about spiles and how the sap is removed from the trees into buckets.
We learned about evaporators, and how it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup.
We learned about how Native Americans cooked the sap into syrup, and the tools they used.
100th Post!
More fun with chemistry!
We separated mixtures.
solids: rocks and sand
liquids: food coloring from water using coffee filters (chromatography)
These boys would do science every day if I let them!
